Why I'd Rather be "Badass" Than Professional in Confronting School Reformers
What have teachers gotten by acting professional, insisting that
changes in school policy be based on sound research and the advice of
seasoned practitioners? Nothing!!! They have been totally marginalized
from education policy discussions, and their voices ignored. We have
nothing to lose by mocking those who have demonized us and taking pride
in our strength and resilience. In the 'Hood" Badass is the highest
compliment you can give someone. It connotes someone to be respected and
feared. In this country, teachers have been neither. Time to Flip the
Script!

Professional does not have to mean quiet and accepting of whatever you are told to do. A true professional has all of the traits you describe in your post, without having to call themselves a badass. If you call yourself a badass, you're probably not that badass.
That said, I appreciate that this has grabbed the attention of teachers all over the US. I'll wait and see what the long-term outcome of this is, before worrying too much about the name.
Thank you for igniting a spark!
That didn't post my name, f'n blogger. I am @ehmatthes on twitter, if anyone cares to reply directly to me.
School confronting zones are prescribing and evaluating about more of the tactics and certainly one have to comply with the same nexus if they really want to get some success. free resume critique online
